Dance for the River is an interdisciplinary program that brings together dance and photography to drive awareness for and educate about clean water on the Yadkin River, which is North Carolina’s second-longest river and one of the largest watersheds in the state. This program was initiated as a collaborative effort between Christine Rucker Photography, Helen Simoneau Danse, the UNC School of the Arts’ School of Dance, Yadkin Arts Council, and Yadkin Riverkeeper. Rucker travelled the length of the river with dance students, and used dance to photographically interpret the variety of the river and environmental threats to this water source. While there are no tickets or admission fees for this event we ask that you please RSVP if you plan to attend. Find more information here.
